I keep seeing Matt Furie’s work everywhere, and it’s just too good to ignore. His illustrations are like heavy metal high school notebook sketches mixed with “Muppet Babies” on acid. He mostly draws adorably evil big-lipped wombat humanoids decked out in early 90’s style, spray-painting, riding bikes, break dancing, or riding giant birds. The work evokes a stupid nostalgia that reeks of childhood and love. Is this what growing up with endless re-runs of “The Simpsons” has wrought? Please say it’s so.
Check out Matt Furie’s portfolio for more trippendicular art.

Dave White just brought home one of his pieces. And while the stuff he brings home generally leaves me cold and/or aghast, I dig this one.
A normal day at the beach in Holland.
